Dmitry Blinov never planned to become a chef, but by chance at the age of 17 he found himself in the kitchen. He developed an interest in cooking and at the age of 22 became a chef.
In 2014, when he was 27, Dmitry opened his first restaurant, DUO Gastrobar in St. Petersburg. The restaurant immediately attracted a lot of guests and was announced to be the best in St. Petersburg by WhereToEat restaurant award.
The key motivation behind Dmitry's first restaurant and those that followed, is to make people's lives brighter, guests happier, and give his employees the chance to fulfil their potential at a workplace.
Inspired by his passion for cooking tartare and offal dishes, in 2015 Dmitry launched another restaurant called Tartarbar. It was a challenge for industry with its traditional and boring standards.
In 2017 Dmitry once again surprised everyone with the opening of DUO Asia, a pan-Asian restaurant in St. Petersburg with an ironic approach to Asian cuisine.
In 2018 Dmitry performed at the Madrid Fusion gastronomic event, an important event in the world of gastronomy. That same year he opened Harvest the first vegetable-focused restaurant in St. Petersburg based on the principles of responsible consumption. Six months later Harvest ranked #92 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list. At the same time DUO and Tartarbar were listed in the Best Discovery guide.
At the end of 2020 Dmitry successfully opened Oggi, an Italian bistro. In 2021 he launched two new projects: Frantsuza Bistro, a modern French bistro for everyday dining, and Sage, a long-awaited restaurant in Moscow.
In August 2023 Dmitry launched the first international project - DUO Gastrobar in Dubai. The second DUO Gastrobar was open in November 2024 in Dubai as well.
In July 2024 DUO Gastrobar was listed in Dubai Michelin guide and won the prestigious Bib Gourmand award. In February 2025,
it was noted by the world-famous Gault&Millau restaurant guide.
Aimed at creating a product for the the developing middle-eastern market, in January 2025 Dmitry together with his team opened Reborn - a new gastronomic meat restaurant in St. Petersburg.
